I’ve been with British Airways Executive Club for many years, but I’m seriously considering moving away.
Main issues:
Frequent website glitches making booking difficult
Ongoing problems with household account and “friends and family” setup loops
Call centre support has been unhelpful and unwilling to escalate issues
Online complaints process seems limited to post-travel cases only
Overall it feels like the system is becoming increasingly frustrating to use.
I’m based in New York and regularly travel to the UK and Italy, so I’m trying to figure out a better long-term loyalty setup.
Does anyone know:
Which airline alliances or programs currently offer status matching from British Airways?
Which programs are worth switching to for transatlantic and Europe-heavy travel patterns?
Any recommendations based on real experience would be appreciated
