Just saw the news that Spirit Airlines plans to recall pilots who were previously furloughed, apparently to help stabilize operations ahead of the busy summer travel season.
Considering how many pilots and crew were furloughed during the airline’s restructuring and bankruptcy issues over the past year, this could be a step toward improving reliability. Spirit had cut hundreds of pilot positions as part of cost-cutting efforts during its financial struggles.
Curious how many of those pilots will actually return though. Hopefully it helps reduce the delays and cancellations people have been dealing with recently.
