Did 3 months in Da Nang working remote and landed around $1200/month. Totally doable, but definitely not the “ultra cheap paradise” people hype it up to be.
Biggest chunk was rent (~$480), then food around $240 eating mostly local. Everything else adds up quick… gym, coworking, random stuff, visas.
Also didn’t expect how annoying rainy season can be or how prices creep up on weekends.
Still really liked it overall, just felt a bit more “real” than what you see online.
