We’re about to do a 5 night Disney cruise with our 5, 3, and 1 year old. Add in international flights and two nights at a Disney resort and this trip is basically a full year of savings for us.
We were invited by other families and the cruise was already booked, so it kind of felt like we were joining late rather than planning it ourselves. They make more than we do, which probably makes this easier for them.
What’s eating at me is whether this is worth it with kids this young. The 1 year old won’t remember. The 3 year old probably won’t either. My brother said cruises really shine more with kids 7+, and part of me agrees. We did a big Disney World trip three years ago and if I’d known this was coming, I would’ve scaled that way back.
I know the argument is “you’ll remember it,” and I get that, but it’s hard not to feel uneasy spending this much when it’s such a stretch financially. I’m sure we’ll have fun, but the anxiety hasn’t really gone away.
Has anyone else gone through this and felt conflicted leading up to the trip?
