Was stuck with a delay in Vegas and asked the gate agent what he thought about the new boarding process. He glanced at his supervisor, laughed, and said “it’s gonna be amazing”… then immediately followed with “yeah it’ll probably be a shit show, especially at the start.”
According to him, the flow is supposed to be:
Pre-board
Extra Leg Room seats, boarded by window / middle / aisle
Preferred seats, window / middle / aisle
A-List Preferred and A-List if they didn’t already get ELR or Preferred
Then everyone else, back to front, window / middle / aisle
He wasn’t sure where family boarding or extra time fits in, guessing somewhere after preferred.
Honestly? Sounds logical on paper, but I can already picture the confusion, people standing in the wrong lanes, and gate agents repeating themselves nonstop for the first few weeks. Buckle up.
