I was A List Preferred for years and yeah, the open seating and free bags were great. But let’s be honest, a big reason a lot of us flew Southwest was the pricing. It used to be reasonable, even last minute.
Lately though? The fares feel crazy.
Flights that were around $240 a couple years ago are now showing $450 plus. I checked Vegas to Nashville and saw one ways pushing $800. That’s not the old Southwest most of us remember.
And at the same time, some of the things that made them different are changing too. It just doesn’t feel like the same airline anymore.
Hard not to feel like something shifted over the past couple years.
