A-List Preferred + Companion for years, always get A16–A19 without touching anything. Booked this trip months ago, flight time changed in August (by Southwest, not us), no big deal.
This morning my wife checks and she’s C50. I check mine and the app won’t even show a position. Call in… turns out I’m C49. Agent gives me the usual “you should’ve checked in at 24 hours” line even though the app literally wouldn’t let me. Zero help.
At ATL the counter said some “priority seat change” for 91 dollars failed and that’s why it happened something we never even tried to do. Chat said it was because we changed the flight (we didn’t). Social media finally admitted none of their usual reasons apply but they still can’t explain it. They offered to reimburse upgraded boarding, but of course the flight is full so there’s nothing to buy anyway.
And now our boarding passes show a gate that hasn’t existed at STL in over a decade. Just… unreal.
