Southwest Airlines will launch a new seasonal nonstop route between Indianapolis and San Juan, Puerto Rico, starting June 4, 2026, with service operating on Saturdays through August 3. The move expands the airline’s Caribbean network and strengthens air connectivity between the U.S. mainland and Puerto Rico. Officials estimate the route will generate over $1.1 million in economic impact and add approximately 1,600 passenger seats to the island’s summer capacity. Puerto Rico’s governor described the new service as a symbol of renewed confidence in the local tourism industry, bringing more visitors, jobs, and opportunities for small businesses.
