This is one of those rule changes I can actually understand but still find kind of annoying. I get that lithium battery fires are scary and real, but now Southwest wants us to only use power banks if they’re in sight, not tucked in bags or bins? It’s giving a “half-measure.” Either ban charging mid-flight or don’t. I also wonder how flight attendants are supposed to enforce this, especially on a packed 737 with everyone trying to top off before landing.
Curious if folks have run into new battery rules on other airlines recently, especially outside the U.S.? Sounds like Asia's already ahead on this.
