I recently checked one of my upcoming Southwest Airlines itineraries for a July trip from Orlando (MCO) to Minneapolis (MSP) and noticed a schedule change notification saying “We had to change your flight.”
After reviewing the updated itinerary, it appears that our original single connecting journey has been effectively split in a way that no longer works. The connection now seems to require us to arrive in the connecting city after the second flight has already departed.
While I appreciate that our seats are still kept together on the individual segments, the revised timing does not seem feasible as a connection anymore, especially considering baggage retrieval and recheck requirements.
Has anyone experienced similar schedule changes with Southwest where a valid connection essentially became impossible? If so, what was the best way to get this resolved, did you have to call in for rebooking, or was it automatically corrected closer to departure?
