Flew MCI to LAX today. A-List with A26, traveling with just a backpack and laptop bag. Flight was already delayed about 20 minutes because the crew was late.
I tried to sit in the extra legroom seats up front and was told I could only sit there if I put my backpack under the seat because the FA didn’t want to “delay boarding.” She also wouldn’t let anyone with a carry-on sit there, so later C group passengers ended up getting prime extra legroom seats.
The irony is that this same FA was part of the late crew that caused the delay in the first place, and then later delayed the flight another hour to remove a passenger during the safety briefing. No announcements about tight connections when we landed either.
All this effort to “speed up boarding,” yet we still left way late. Southwest logic at its finest.
