Southwest Airlines will begin nonstop service to Anchorage, Alaska, starting in May 2026, marking its first-ever entry into the state’s market. The airline will operate daily flights from Anchorage to Denver and Las Vegas, expanding its domestic network to 122 airports and adding Alaska as its 43rd state served. Southwest COO Andrew Watterson said Anchorage was chosen for its appeal to both leisure and business travelers.
