Had to rant about something goofy. I work for a smaller legacy airline in the US and offered a friend some buddy passes or even my dependant slot since it’s always empty. Instead of just saying no, they hit me with “Oh, I only fly [bigger airline]. Maybe you should fly them too. They’re better.”
Like… what? People usually beg for buddy passes. I told them I’m happy where I work and my contract is solid. They doubled down with “Really? Are you sure?”
I love non revving on that airline too, but work is work. As long as my base and contract fit my life, who cares if it isn’t the biggest carrier. The tone was just weird. A simple no would’ve been enough.
Guess I’ll save that slot for someone who’d actually appreciate it.
