Someone cleared Polaris ahead of me even though I was 1

I’m GS and was sitting at 1 on the Polaris upgrade list. It showed fully booked, no cash upgrades. Then within 24 hours of check-in, someone suddenly cleared ahead of me. Not sure how that happens? Anyone seen this before?
