Was on a flight yesterday where a passenger had a medical emergency. Myself and a nurse practitioner were helping, medical command was on the phone, flight attendants fully focused on the situation.
Because of that, drink and food service obviously got delayed. At one point, a passenger walked all the way back to complain about not getting water yet and actually yelled “thanks for the empathy!” at the flight attendants while they were dealing with the emergency.
When we landed, the crew had us deplane with the patient alongside EMS. As soon as the aisle opened, people rushed forward anyway, including the same passenger, saying “I just wanna get off this plane.”
I get wanting to leave, but the lack of basic human decency in moments like this is wild. Just glad the patient ended up being okay.
