I am traveling solo for the first time and recently visited Bangkok, where I spent four days. During that time, I had a great experience going to bars and street markets, and I was able to meet plenty of people to socialize with.
After that, I traveled to Koh Tao. While the island itself is beautiful, I have found it much harder to connect with others here. When I went out to bars, most people were already in groups, which made it difficult to start conversations or join in.
I did spend some time chatting with bartenders, who were friendly, but overall I ended up returning to my hostel without really meeting anyone new. The experience has been a bit discouraging, especially since this is my first solo trip. I expected some challenges, but it still feels disappointing.
