Can you imagine looking out your window mid-flight and seeing a B-52 bomber cruising too close for comfort? That’s what happened over South Dakota, and the SkyWest pilot had to throw the jet into an “aggressive maneuver” to avoid what sounds like a potential disaster. Apparently, it got way too close- like, within visual distance close.
This kind of thing shouldn’t be happening in 2025. Where was the airspace coordination? And how is it that a massive bomber and a commercial jet almost shared the same sky in real time? I would love to hear from anyone with ATC or military aviation insight.
