Was on UA59 from Frankfurt to San Francisco on Nov 15 and we had to divert for a medical emergency. Ended up in Quebec City so paramedics could get a passenger off safely, then got sent to Chicago for a crew change because of duty limits. About a 5-hour delay by the time we made it to SFO.
Honestly, United handled it the way you’d hope, and the passengers were amazing. No complaining, no drama everyone just understood we were doing the right thing for someone who needed help. New crew in Chicago was super kind too.
Nice reminder that people can still be decent when it matters.
