Should Cruise Lines Warn More About Shore Excursion Risks?

I recently read about the heartbreaking case of a family suing Norwegian Cruise Line after a father drowned at Horseshoe Bay during a port stop in Bermuda. It was described as an easy beach day, yet strong currents and no lifeguards led to disaster. What really struck me was that this same tour is still being offered with no added warnings. It made me rethink how we trust “official” cruise excursions to be safe.

I’ve booked many excursions assuming they’re vetted and low-risk, especially ones marked easy. But maybe that label isn't enough. Should cruise lines be more transparent about seasonal hazards like currents or lack of lifeguards? I’d love to hear if anyone else has faced unexpected risks on a shore tour, or if this changes how you book excursions.
