Last July I tried to ship two Tomorrowland tents from Antwerp to Mexico using bpost. Went to the counter, they accepted the parcel, took my money, and processed it as an international shipment. At no point did anyone say the package was too big.
The parcel never even left Belgium. It just sat there for almost two months with no clear answers. After multiple follow ups, I was finally told it couldn’t be shipped internationally because it exceeded size limits.
Then they told me I had to give a Belgian address so it could be delivered locally instead. No refund option, even though the international service I paid for was never provided.
Once it was delivered within Belgium, they closed the case and said it wasn’t considered lost, so no reimbursement. Technically they followed their internal rules, but the outcome for the customer was awful.
If you’re planning to ship Tomorrowland tents internationally, be very careful and double check size limits yourself. Don’t assume the counter staff will flag issues for you.
