SF's Iconic Edinburgh Castle Bar Has Closed- Travelers, Take Note

If you were hoping to check out one of San Francisco’s legendary dive bars, take note: Edinburgh Castle has officially closed after over 60 years. This Tenderloin staple was more than just a pub it hosted underground music shows, literary readings, and film shoots for classics like Venom and So I Married an Axe Murderer.

The closure wasn’t announced with much notice, so if it was on your list, sadly it’s too late. SF travelers: always double-check before adding longtime favorites to your itinerary. City shifts and changing crowds are really reshaping the bar scene. Anyone else have a favorite SF spot vanish recently?
