Got a travel situation and trying to figure out if this will cause issues.
The itinerary is British Airways to Mumbai, then SriLankan Airlines to Sri Lanka, but it’s a self-transfer with two separate bookings. There’s about 10 hours between flights.
Details:
No checked baggage
Both airlines are in the same alliance
Flights should be in the same terminal at Mumbai
Already checked in with SriLankan online, but they said the boarding pass must be collected in Mumbai
The problem is we don’t have an Indian visa, and there’s not enough time to get one now.
Since it’s a self-transfer, I’m wondering if this will require going through immigration to collect the boarding pass, or if there’s any way to stay airside and still make the connection.
Has anyone dealt with this at Mumbai Airport?
