Looking for anyone who’s experienced a similar situation for guidance on how it was handled. My family is cruising Norwegian in May out of Europe, we live in the US. My sister booked a room with a guest, and got the BOGO air promotion. When she booked, there were concerns her guest would not be able to make the trip so she asked before final payment if she could switch the guest name in the future and bring someone else. The response was yes but she would pay a fee, and forfeit the second guests airfare. Jump to today and she called to change the guest name as her original guest can no longer come. She was told that by changing the guest on the cruise reservation, they need to cancel her airfare totally which means she would lose her flights that she paid to choose and forfeit that cost as well. (We all paid more to select the same flights together). She would now get assigned random flights from Norwegian. She was never told that her own flights would be cancelled if she changed the guest name. Now the only options we can see are her changing the guest name and flying separately on randomly assigned flights, or keeping the original guest and having him no show, and her new guest just won’t come on the trip. Any advice or experience with similar situations?? Thank you!
