Just got back from a couple weeks in Denmark, Finland, and France and was honestly surprised by how many places wouldn’t take Amex anymore. Even spots that still had the logo on the terminal kept declining it. When I asked why, a few said the fees have gone up and they’re dropping it.
Good thing I had backups, but for a company that pushes the whole “travel card” angle, this feels like a pretty big downside.
