During a transatlantic overnight JetBlue flight from JFK, I was seated in the last row of Even More Space, with standard economy seats directly behind me. I usually deal with lower back discomfort on flights, so after working upright for several hours, I slightly reclined my seat to rest.
The moment I reclined, I noticed resistance and adjusted it only minimally. The recline was very subtle, barely noticeable. I eventually fell asleep, but later woke up after hearing a flight attendant and noticing my seat moving repeatedly.
It turned out the passenger behind me was forcefully pushing my seat forward and holding it upright for a long period instead of speaking to me. There was no request or warning, just physical resistance throughout the rest of the flight.
From my perspective, the recline was minimal and within normal use of the seat, and I would have expected a verbal request if it was an issue. The repeated physical pushing made the situation uncomfortable and frustrating, especially on a long overnight flight.
