For context, I’ve only been to the EU once before, Germany and France, about 10 years ago when I was a child (I’m 20 now).
I was planning to travel from Pakistan to Spain to start my on-campus studies for the first time. My father is a Spanish resident with business in Spain, and my sister is also currently studying there. However, my visa application was rejected, and I’m now being told I may be blacklisted across all Schengen countries, which I don’t understand at all.
I’m really confused about why this happened. Is it possible this could be an identity mix-up or some kind of administrative error? Or could it simply be due to nationality or visa history? I don’t have any prior issues that I know of.
My father is now asking a lawyer in Spain to investigate because even he is unsure why this rejection or possible ban would happen. I’m just trying to understand what could realistically cause this situation and whether there is any way to get clarity or appeal it.
Has anyone experienced something similar or know how this process actually works?
