Schedule change downgraded my business award to economy without warning

This one really caught me off guard.


I had a business class award ticket on TK. Got a schedule change email and it said I could do a one time free change. So I picked another flight same day, assuming it would still be business since nothing showed otherwise.


Only after confirming did I realize I’d been moved to economy.


Called customer service and they basically told me to fill out the feedback form. That’s it.


Now I’m just sitting here wondering if I’ll even get the miles difference back or if I messed up by confirming.


Has anyone had TK downgrade an award like this after a schedule change? Did they refund the points difference?
