Scary Moments in the Sky as JetBlue Engine Fails After Takeoff from Long Island

Last week, I flew out of Long Island MacArthur Airport, and I just found out that JetBlue Flight 547, which left the same airport for Orlando, had to make an emergency landing at JFK due to a completely destroyed engine. That shook me up. I've had smooth flights from MacArthur before, and it's always felt convenient and low-stress, but hearing about this makes me rethink how crucial airline maintenance and emergency training are.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported, but imagining the tension on that flight makes my stomach drop. It’s a reminder of how vulnerable we really are once airborne.

Has anyone ever experienced an emergency landing or anything alarming mid-flight? Would you fly the same airline again after something like this?
