I need to flag something that happened while trying to contact Scandinavian Airlines customer support.
The official phone line was either disconnected or unavailable outside business hours (M–F, 9–5), so I searched online for “Scandinavian Airlines customer service number” in my country. Unfortunately, the first result (including what appeared in AI-generated search results) led me to a fraudulent number that was not actually connected to the airline.
I called it and provided my booking reference and contact details. They claimed they could see my ticket but said it was “not confirmed” and that they would call me back.
It later became clear this was likely a third-party scam operation posing as airline support. They appear to use SEO tactics and listings on review sites to rank highly in search results and intercept customers who are trying to contact the airline directly. From there, they offer to “help” with changes or cancellations and charge fees for services that can often be done directly through the airline’s own website.
I take responsibility for not verifying the number properly, but I wanted to warn others that these fake “support” numbers are actively circulating and can look very legitimate in search results.
