Booked a hotel on Booking.com yesterday and today I got a WhatsApp message from someone claiming to be a hotel agent. The message included my reservation details and asked me to re enter my credit card information through an external link.
That immediately raised red flags. After checking, it’s clearly a scam. Sharing here in case it helps someone else. If you get messages like this asking for payment or card details outside Booking.com, be careful and don’t click anything.
If you receive messages from unknown numbers claiming to be the hotel, it’s safest to ignore and block them.
