Saying goodbye to summer camping at Yankee springs but fall is just getting started

Just got back from a Labor Day weekend at Yankee Springs Recreation Area and wow, what a way to close out summer! We stayed at the modern campground and spent our days hiking and biking through the scenic trails. Nights were peaceful and pitch black a total reset from city life. It’s the kind of place where you truly unplug, especially with kids.

Even though summer’s over, I’m thinking of heading back for a fall trip. The leaves are about to explode in color, and it’s way quieter post-holiday. They don’t allow winter camping, but you can still book through November.
