I booked a round-trip international ticket with Saudia Airlines that was originally scheduled to depart from Los Angeles (LAX). I recently received an email stating the flight was rescheduled, but the change actually moved my departure and arrival airport entirely to New York (JFK), which is about 2500 miles away.
This creates a major issue because I also have a separate non-refundable American Airlines domestic flight that arrives at LAX only five hours before my original international departure time. Since the tickets are separate, I cannot change or refund the domestic segment, so I am now effectively stuck arriving in the wrong city.
The ticket was booked through Chase Travel, and my American Airlines fare is a basic economy ticket, so cancellation is not really an option. I am unsure what my rights are in this situation and whether Saudia should be offering a full refund due to the major schedule change. If they refuse, would a credit card chargeback be a valid option given the significant itinerary change?
