Not exactly the award you want to win, but here we are: Santa Monica State Beach ranks #1 in the country for beach theft risk this year. From stolen phones and designer sandals to one guy’s half-eaten burrito, it’s clear that if you leave it unattended in the sand, someone or something, looking at you seagulls might swipe it.
On the flip side, Cape Cod beaches seem to be holding down the safety side of things- super low theft and burglary stats. Honestly, it might be time to trade in the West Coast beach vibes for something a little more chill and less pick pocket. Anyone else ever had something stolen at the beach?
