I’ve been coming to San Francisco for years, and on my latest visit I noticed a real shift in the city’s atmosphere. It feels safer, cleaner, and more focused on practical solutions rather than just lofty ideas. Locals told me about recent changes like fully staffing the police department, using drones to investigate crimes, and even seeing auto burglaries drop to a 22-year low. Businesses are also getting a boost thanks to new tax relief measures, and there’s a sense that the city is working to bring people and jobs back.
What really struck me was how these changes aren’t about abandoning progressive values but about finding balance. Ending street distribution of drug paraphernalia, focusing on public safety, and supporting economic growth all seem to be part of the same vision.
As a traveler, it’s inspiring to see a city course-correct and lead by example. Have you seen similar turnarounds in other cities?
