I arrived at the Ryanair bag drop queue before the official cutoff time and waited in line while passengers were being processed.
However, by the time I reached the counter, I was told my baggage could not be accepted because the cutoff time had passed. This happened due to delays within the airline’s own queue system, not because I arrived late.
As a result, I had to discard two bags and around €60 worth of personal items at the gate to avoid additional excess baggage charges.
I filed a complaint explaining the situation, but the response I received was a generic message about baggage policy that did not address the issue I raised.
My concern is that passengers who join the queue on time are still being penalized due to processing delays.
