Today I checked in about 5 hours before my Ryanair flight and was assigned a “seat at desk” status.
Even though I checked in relatively early (I was passenger number 186), I was still not allowed to board the flight.
There was no aircraft change involved. The staff showed me a system screen indicating a red “+8”, confirming that 8 more tickets had been sold than there were seats available on the plane.
I’m extremely frustrated because I was denied boarding despite having checked in, and now I’ve had to rearrange my travel plans. I’ll need to drive to the opposite end of the country to catch a 4:00am flight tomorrow in order to still make it to an important work meeting on time.
