This is such a classic Ryanair thing. Someone paid for the 10kg carry on, measured their bag using the diagram shown during purchase, and only later realised there’s a 20cm depth limit. Their bag was 23cm. Boom, forced to pay for checked luggage on top.
The frustrating part is the diagram doesn’t even show the depth. You think you’re doing everything right, then get hit with a hidden measurement after the fact. Not even surprised, just annoyed on their behalf.
Worth double checking your bags if you’re flying them soon.
