One of the most frustrating things I experience with Ryanair is that every time I fly from the UK to an EU country, I am asked to verify my visa before I can access my boarding pass. The issue is that I am traveling to destinations where my passport does not require any visa at all.
For example, I am flying to Lithuania tomorrow, and although I have checked in, the app does not allow me to download a digital boarding pass. When I go to the airport counter, the staff are usually just as confused when I ask what visa they are trying to verify. In the end, they simply print my boarding pass within seconds. While there is no extra charge, it forces me to arrive at the airport much earlier than necessary.
I have also tried verifying my passport through the app, but it never works. The chip scan always fails, even though the app suggests this as an option. I fly with Ryanair frequently, about once a month, and this issue happens every time.
Interestingly, I do not face this problem with other airlines like Wizz Air or British Airways.
Does anyone know why this keeps happening?
