We’re staying at an IHG hotel this week because of unexpected repairs at home. Overall the hotel has been great. Clean rooms, helpful front desk, no issues there.
But one of the restaurant servers left a bad impression and I’m not sure if it’s worth bringing up to management.
She placed utensils by touching the parts that go in your mouth and handed my child’s drink with her hand on the rim. Then she actually sat down at our table while taking the order.
When we all ordered fries, she commented that it was “too much” and told me, “Mum, how about you get a salad?” I awkwardly laughed and ended up ordering one. Later, when I had one of my toddler’s chicken tenders, she loudly pointed out that I had said my husband would finish them.
The comments felt unnecessary and a bit pointed. My husband didn’t get any remarks like that.
I’m debating whether to mention it to the manager when we leave or just let it go.
