I checked flights from NYC to Columbus for later this summer and was surprised by the current pricing.
Over the past 2–3 years, I’ve flown this route fairly often. Spirit fares were usually around $40 one-way, and even upgrading to a Big Front Seat typically came out to about $150 total. Legacy carriers like American, Delta, and United were usually around $125 for a standard economy fare.
Now that Spirit is no longer operating this route, fares on American, Delta, and United seem to be consistently around $264 one-way across most dates.
It’s a pretty noticeable jump in pricing.
