Stayed 5 nights in a bay view pool suite, booked for 340k IHG points with the 4th night free. Ended up getting upgraded to an ocean view pool suite at check-in.
Arrival felt very polished. Greeted by name, cold towels, welcome drinks, seated check-in. They held $1,000 for incidentals for the stay. Our suite was about half a mile from reception, so golf carts are essential. Staff offered a full room walkthrough, which we appreciated.
The room was impressive. Huge outdoor space with loungers and a private pool (not heated, but fine). Inside we had robes, sandals, raincoats, beach bag, yoga mats, Bluetooth speaker, Nespresso, fruit bowl, aloe, insect repellent, even a bath bomb. A couple welcome snacks listed on paper never showed up, and oddly no sunscreen, but overall very well stocked. The ocean view felt more panoramic than partial.
Grounds are lush and beautiful. There’s a garden for produce. The nature/fitness path is cool but some equipment signs were missing. Four pools total, though we mostly stuck to our private one. The spa pool area was great.
Spa experience was excellent. Massages and a facial were both very good. Nice hydro area with cold plunges (the full-body one is freezing), dry sauna outside, wet sauna in the women’s locker room. Booking through the app was easy.
Breakfast at Callaloo was included and very strong. Buffet plus made-to-order options. Fresh juices, pastries (including gluten-free), hot dishes, fruit, yogurt, eggs, etc. We were so full we skipped lunch daily.
Scoop Cafe for ice cream was a fun surprise. Loved the soursop frozen yogurt and mango basil sorbet.
Dinner at Callaloo and SeaFire was consistently good. I have dietary restrictions and they handled it well.
There are two beaches. One is rough surf and not swimmable but scenic. The other, La Sagesse Bay, is calmer with black sand that actually sparkles. You can walk past the new InterContinental construction toward another small hotel. Non-motorized water sports available.
Gym looked solid though we didn’t use it.
It’s about 45 minutes from the airport. Roads are narrow and winding, so I wouldn’t recommend driving yourself. Not much nearby, so you’ll mostly eat on property. We hired a driver one day to explore the island, which was worth it.
Overall, felt like a true luxury stay and a strong use of IHG points.
