I recently flew in premium economy with Emirates on multiple long-haul routes, including Dubai to Tokyo Haneda Airport on a Boeing 777 and Dubai to Edinburgh on an Airbus A350.
Overall, premium economy felt like a noticeable upgrade from standard economy, with better legroom, a more private cabin layout, and more comfortable seating.
The A350 experience stood out as the better of the two aircraft, offering features like dedicated premium economy lavatories, a newer and more responsive entertainment system, and reduced engine noise.
The main drawback was limited space to get in and out of the seat when the person in front reclines, but this was considered a minor trade-off for the added comfort on long flights.
Flights were roughly half full and the overall travel experience was smooth.
