I’m a pretty big guy, and last year my family stayed at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres. Overall we had an amazing trip and the staff were genuinely fantastic the whole time.
One night we went to the Mexican restaurant on the property and I ordered the shrimp entrée. The waiter tried to explain something to me in Spanish, but there was a bit of a language barrier. He kind of paused, looked at me for a second too long, scribbled something down, and walked away. I had absolutely no clue what just happened.
Later our food comes out and this guy is absolutely grinning. He puts everyone else’s plates down normally, then turns to me and hands over a plate with THREE shrimp entrées combined into one giant serving.
Apparently he took one look at me and decided there was no chance on earth that 3 shrimp would be enough food for this man 😭
Honestly it took me a second to process what happened, but the whole interaction was so funny and weirdly wholesome that I couldn’t even be offended. It actually became one of our favorite memories from the trip.
