I previously asked cabin crew on an ultra long haul Singapore Airlines flight (EWR–SIN) to delay my second meal, and they were accommodating. Now I’m facing the opposite issue on the return flight (SIN–EWR), where the second meal service was scheduled quite late in the flight.
By the time the dessert service finished, there was less than six hours left, which made it difficult to get proper rest and adjust to East Coast time after landing at Newark early in the morning.
On my upcoming flight on the same route, I’m wondering whether it’s reasonable to ask the cabin crew to serve the main second meal earlier. I do not want to skip the meal, but I also want enough uninterrupted sleep before arrival.
I’m not sure if this is something the crew can actually accommodate or if it would be considered outside normal service procedures.
