Sharing a frustrating experience with Qatar Airways.
Our flights were cancelled, and when we contacted support, we were told rerouting was no longer an option under any circumstances. The only option given was to rebook through Doha, even with ongoing regional tensions and travel warnings from multiple governments.
We tried to be flexible:
Offered alternative routes
Willing to fly to nearby destinations
Even gave up to a week of date flexibility
Still, the response was the same: must route through Doha or take a refund.
The refund offered was significantly lower than current ticket prices with other airlines—around a fraction of what rebooking would cost, leaving us with two options:
Fly through a conflict-sensitive hub
Or absorb a major financial loss
We’re now stuck in another country due to the situation and policy changes.
This isn’t just about the flight path itself, it’s the risk of disruptions during transit and the possibility of being stranded if things escalate.
Based on this experience, we’ll be reconsidering future bookings.
