I was traveling with two other people and had originally paid 80 dollars to upgrade to an exit row seat, which seemed like a good option for a 13 hour international flight.
However, just before boarding I noticed in the Delta app that I had been reassigned to a standard economy seat next to my travel companions. I spoke with the gate agent, who then offered me either an exit row middle seat or an upgrade to Premium Select. I chose Premium Select.
