Saw this and honestly it was refreshing.
There’s always those posts saying East Asia can be rough if you’re South Asian, so it was nice reading the complete opposite for once. Just small things like the takoyaki guy asking about pork or the staff helping out with a basket… that stuff adds up.
The “Presento!” moment made me smile too. And that awkward language exchange at the Pokémon store sounds very real lol.
Feels less like “special treatment” and more like people just trying to be thoughtful and helpful, especially in a place like Osaka.
Obviously one trip isn’t everything, but still good to see a different perspective.
