Really disappointed with Virgin Voyages (Scarlet Lady)

Right from the start, our shower door doesn’t seal at the bottom so the bathroom floods every time. Called guest services day one. They fixed the drain but said there’s nothing they can do about the door. So we’re basically mopping the floor daily.

Dining has been frustrating. Even with 5:30pm reservations, meals take so long that we were constantly rushing to make 7:30 shows. Drink refills were slow or never came. Soda in the galley tastes flat and watered down.

We were also given a paper at boarding with my husband’s name on it listing Deep Blue Extras, including a $100 bar tab. Turns out it was a mistake and meant for another room. Guest services said it’s only for people who’ve sailed 5 times. Pretty big error to put his name on it. They offered a bottle of wine instead, which didn’t really help since I don’t drink. Eventually they gave us a complimentary Treat Yourself dining option.

Used that at The Wake for the Grand Plateau. Menu says whole Maine lobster and snow crab claws. We got no claws and just a lobster tail. Manager later messaged saying the lobster is only a half portion. Then the menu should say that. I didn’t complain at dinner since it was comped.

Scarlet Night was very overhyped and kind of underwhelming.

We skipped room service one day and turned on Do Not Disturb so we could nap. Still got a phone call asking when we’d leave so they could clean. That kind of defeats the point of DND.

Lolz Supper Club comedy was great, but the food was awful. Burnt, chewy steak. Most food overall has been very mediocre except breakfast and brunch at The Wake.

Entertainment has been the highlight. BOOKED! was excellent. Murray Sawchuck’s show was so good we saw it twice.

Overall, this has been my least favorite cruise so far compared to MSC and Royal. Staff are polite, but they don’t go above and beyond like I’ve experienced elsewhere. Honestly makes me want to book MSC again next time.
