I know a lot of people don’t recommend flying VietJet Air, but I decided to try their SkyBoss “business class” product anyway because it was significantly cheaper than Vietnam Airlines for the same route.
I flew from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City on a 6:05–8:05 pm flight and paid about $103.75 per person one way (booked late, so higher than usual for this route).
Overall experience:
Priority check-in and security (saved around 20 minutes)

Access to SH priority lounge (also usable via Priority Pass)
Dedicated boarding and private shuttle to aircraft
Cabin crew helped with carry-on storage
Welcome drink provided
Free vegetarian meal included (other meals available for purchase)
The seat felt similar to a basic premium economy seat (comparable to some United or Frontier business-style configurations), with decent legroom for my height (5’10”).
Despite concerns about delays on this route, the flight actually arrived about 4 minutes early. I was expecting worse based on what I had read, but it ended up being smooth.
As a bonus, I also received a small birthday month gift onboard (passport cover or charging cable, I chose the passport cover), even though I never registered a VietJet account.
Overall, it felt like a surprisingly good value for the price, even if the airline has a mixed reputation.
