Rare August Atmospheric River to Soak Seattle and Help Wildfire Efforts

Can’t believe Seattle’s in for a legit atmospheric river in August! Forecast says we could get up to an inch of rain in the city and up to 5 inches in the mountains. I’ve lived here a few years and never seen summer storms like this. Hopefully it helps with the Bear Gulch fire near Lake Cushman. Crews up there must be desperate for any relief.

Planning to head into the Cascades this weekend, but now I’m wondering if hiking is even doable. Anyone else got outdoor plans that might get washed out? I love moody weather, but this one feels a little extreme for August. Curious to hear how others are planning around it, or if you've experienced anything like this before!
